I am also suffering from night time itching for the last two weeks. It starts at about 10:30 at night and gets progressively worse. It doesn't matter if I am in bed, at home or not.
If I want to sleep my routine is an Aveeno Oatmeal bath (double packet) two antihistamines and slapping on some Gold Bond anti-itch lotion. I never knew how horrible itching problems could be.
I have little sugar in my diet and usually sweeten things with Agave...but on the weekend I went to a friends for a movie and binged on chocolate, licorice and kettlecorn. Funny enough that night I was completely itch free. Tomorrow I am going to experiment and pig out on some sweets in the evening to see if I can recreate the relief with sugar?
I know this sounds a little nuts...but does anyone know of a medical reason this may work? I see my Doc this Friday and will see what he says as well.
