Neck rash

I have had a rash on my neck for at least a month. It seems that I first noticed it after I had shaved too close to the skin using an electric shaver. I have been applying an aloe vera lotion, meant for sunburns, to my neck daily. However, my neck remains itchy. The skin is dry & flaky even though I apply the lotion daily. I read that Barber's Rash can be the result of staphylococus aureous infection. My father happens to have MRSA, so I am concerned that it might be my exposure to this on one of my visits to see him in the recent past!
