After almost a year and a half of on and off again "hives," I finally figured it out on my own. After 2 doctors diagnosing me with chronic urticaria and doing 2 painful biopsies from the best doctors in Chicago, this is what happened: I was reading in bed one night and found a bed bug biting my shouulder. I couldn't believe it, because I had searched early on to see if they were the culprit. I had NO SIGNS of bed bugs at all. For 3 months straight I was waking up between 1-3am with 5-7 new welts, itchy as all ***l. They would cycle through in about 1 week, but it was awful. My back was covered, arms...and they started going for my face. Cleaned every peice of bedding in my apt, brought in an exterminator, cleaned top to bottom, bought bed bug barriers for my mattress and box spring and BAM! Haven't had a single welt in 2.5 months!
I wanted to share after reading these forums and seeing how bad people had hives...maybe hoping I could help solve someone else's problem...
