Hello there--

Every time I have coconut or coconut extract, even if I don't consciously know that it's in the food, I end up extremely nauseous and most of the time throw up. I was just wondering, is it possibly to have a type of coconut allergy like this?

Thanks so much!

I am on vacation, drank from a coconut and then ate the coconut inside and am now nauseated with diarrhea! I presume the only remedy is....time! :o(-B

  • I have had an allergy to coconut since I was a child. Eating it makes me vomit and smelling it makes me nauseous if it is in an air freshener in a closed space. Smelling it up close, even if it is from shampoo on someone's hair seizes up my lungs and I cannot breathe for nearly a minute and the pain in my chest is excruciating. The allergy is rare but it most certainly does exist. Coconut oil is bad, usually nausea and diarrhea but solid coconut is vomit worthy every time.
