I am a 23 yr old feamle with an alcoholic b/f.. we have been together for 2 1/2 yrs we are very happy although he drinks way to much I don't know what I can do to help him.. this is the ONE thing that is tearin us apart.. both of his parents are drinkers although his mom has been to AA and has gotten 'clean' she still drinks once every 4 months which is still not healthy for someone that has been to AA classes. My b\f admitts to having a problem but says he will work on it, he has been telling me this for a long time... I keep telling him that I am gonna leave him cause I don't wanna be with someone that drinks because I am not a drinker like that.. I may have a 12oz class of beer 2 times a year and that is it... What can I do???? :(

  • I have been married to an alcoholic for 11 years. It keeps getting worse. Give him an ultimatum ! he either goes into rehab, or you are not in his miserable life.Good Luck! You have your whole life in front of you.
