Yes you can, adopting clean habits and regular skin care regime can definitely prevent skin infections and contribute to good and healthy skin.

Maintain good hygiene and keep your hands clean at all times. Always wash your hands before and after meals, after using the toilet, and, before and after attending to any wounds. Take special care to keep your feet clean too, as germs tend to have an easy access into your body through them.
Educate yourself about the type of skin you have. Take extra care to keep your skin moisturized if it’s dry or cracked, more so during winters.
Try to include a good portion of fruits and vegetables in your diet. keep yourself well hydrated by drinking at least 8 glasses of water/fluids during the day.
Keep cuts, abrasions and burns clean and covered with a bandage until they are healed. Watch carefully for any signs of infection.
Avoid sharing personal items such as clothes, towels, hair brush, and razors through which an infection can be easily contacted.
Avoid excessive exposure to the sun, especially during peak hours of the day. if not going out, apply sun screen of a high SPF on the exposed area of the skin.

various types of skin diseases are

Acne
Dermatitis
Eczema
Pigmentation
Psoriasis
Rosacea
Vitiligo
Warts
Melanoma.
