  • Doctor medications and over-the-counter products will never get rid of acne conditions because they are merely a patch...the problem is internal so you have to use an internal treatment to be rid of the problem. I discovered this after suffering years with cystic acne. Natural herbs did it for me...it cleanses, cleans the blood, rids you of toxic chemicals contributing to your skin problems. I'm just passing along help that a friend gave to me. Good Luck! http://www.skintreatmentwebsite.com

  • Hi I've also suffered from severe acne for the past 12 years. Have you tried Clindamycin gel? I use a gel called Duac Once Daily (I'm in the UK, so this may be referred to by a different brand name elsewhere.) and it's pretty good. I've also used Murad acne products with great success.....and believe me, I've tried everything there is! I've also had N-light treatments on my chest/back which were prescribed by my dermatologist and I received them for free at my local hospital. For some reason this therapy worked much better on my back and chest than on my face, so you may want to consider it. I'd beg to differ on the prescribed/medical treatments for acne being of limited use. I've had 2 courses of Accutane with great success after exhausting every other oral antibiotic/topical treatment available. Obviously it's a very difficult decision to make since it's such a potent drug, but the benefits outweigh the negative aspects in my opinion. I had particularly bad side effects from the treatment first time around and said I'd never take it again, but when my acne returned in full force I found myself rushing off to see a dermatologist as soon as I could. Finally, I haven't personally tried it, but I understand that Proactiv skin care is a very good acne reliever. Good luck!
